Ground Beef Red Chili
Easy Ground Beef Red Chili for a weeknight dinner or can be made for large groups!
The Facts
This Ground Beef Red Chili recipe is a go-to for us all year around. It’s another family recipe that has stuck with us and is always a crowd pleaser. It was always a good night when it was chili night for dinner. I always remember asking is it done yet? And being continually prompted that I had to wait for it to simmer to allow for the flavor to fully develop before scooping a bowl.
This recipe is super simple and is great dinner option on a busy weeknight. It starts with cooking the ground beef and onion together with a little salt before adding in the rest of ingredients. Once the meat is cooked through, the rest gets added in and then all that is needed is just a little time to simmer. The simmer time is honestly up to you, we recommend at least 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to develop. However, you could let it go longer or shorter depending on the timing that works best for you.
After the simmering time is up, now it is up to you on how you want to customize your bowl of chili. Adding a dollop of sour cream can make it creamier. Adding shredded cheddar cheese is a nice compliment to the beef and bean combo. Adding in Fritos provides a nice crunch and saltiness to each bite. Another option if you want the crunch, but a little less salt is Saltine Crackers!
